Bike to Work Day is (Sort Of) Almost Here!

Bike to Work Day, the culminating event for Bike to Work Week, is quickly approaching. Well, actually, it’s not until May 20th, but it’s not too soon to start planning! Registration is now open on the Washington Area Bicyclist Association website, which also gives you all the information you need to know to have fun, be safe and win free stuff. Here are some key things to know:

  • Bike to Work Day is a FREE event—for you, anyway. Because if you really think about it, factoring in the free food, drinks, t-shirts and raffle prizes, it’s kind of like we’re paying you.
  • There will be 10 Pit Stops in the District where you can stop for food and drinks, and if you’re lucky, win raffle prizes. Prizes are fun!
  • You must register for one of the pit stops in order to be eligible for raffle prizes. You’ll also receive a free t-shirt at the pit stop of your choice if you are one of the first 8,500 to register. Note the use of the word “free” again.
  • You can participate in Bike to Work Day even if you’re a little bike-shy (we just know you can!). There’s safety in numbers and Commuter Convoys are available to join. If you need extra preparation, WABA offers free Confident City Cycling classes.

Be sure to register now. At goDCgo, we’re already planning our Bike to Work Day outfits. So we hope you see us out there! I mean we'll see you out there.
