D.C. lends a high-energy lifestyle with immeasurable professional and personal opportunities for women according to a new report released by the Social Science Research Council.
The report found that women living in Washington, D.C., and its surrounding areas are better educated, live longer, and have the capability to earn more than anywhere else in the U.S.
According to the report, women in Washington, D.C. have a median salary of $37,657, which is $15,357 more than the median salary earnings in lowest-ranked, Riverside-San Bernardino in California.
The report points out that in metro areas, a women’s marital status has a direct correlation with how much she earns, which could be a reason why women in D.C. earn the highest among twenty-five metro areas since more than one-third of women here, never marry.
This study, though necessary in creating a better tomorrow for our country, is just a statistic.
