DDOT Announces New Manager to Oversee Parking and Streetlight Operations

 

From John Lisle: Terry Bellamy, the Director of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), announced Angelo Rao has joined DDOT as the new Citywide Program Support Manager. In that capacity, Mr. Rao will be responsible for managing DDOT’s parking and streetlight programs. He is also expected to take the lead on implementing new strategies and technology to make DDOT’s operations more sustainable.

Gray officially released his Vision for a Sustainable DC at a ribbon-cutting event for the long-awaited opening of the Riverwalk Trail Bridge along the Anacostia River.  In addition, he proposed a legislative package that will help lead the way for green businesses, restore the environment and protect vulnerable populations.

Gray, Ward 7 Councilmember Yvette Alexander, District Department of Transportation (DDOT) Director Terry Bellamy, Federal Highway Administrator Victor Mendez and community leaders held a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to celebrate the substantial completion of the Pennsylvania Avenue Great Streets Project. The $35.8 million project has dramatically improved this vital corridor, making it safer for vehicular traffic and pedestrians alike and vastly more appealing visually.

Part Of Eastbound SE/SW Freeway Scheduled to Close for Two-Hour Period Tonight

(Washington, D.C.) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the eastbound lanes on the Southeast/Southwest Freeway between 11th Street, SE and Pennsylvania Avenue, SE for an estimated two hour period starting at 10 pm tonight.  The 9th Street, SE entrance ramp to the eastbound Southeast/Southwest Freeway will also be closed during this time.
