March For Life: Roe v. Wade 39 Years Later | News
WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Today is the 39th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, which legalized abortion in this country. There is a full slate of March for Life events, including a prayer session at Verizon Center and a march from the National Mall to the U.S. Supreme Court.
The march began at noon with House Speaker Joh Boehner delivering the opening remarks. Constitution Avenue will be closed from 3rd to 9th Streets Northwest and 1st to 3rd Streets Northeast. There will also be closures along 3rd Street Northwest, 6th Street Northwest, and some of the roads crossing the Mall.
