Veterans Job Fair At Convention Center | News
WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Wednesday, the Department of Veterans Affairs will host a major veteran-focused job fair. Private sector companies -- as well as federal agencies -- plan to hire on the spot.
The job fair takes place on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Walter Washington Convention Center at 801 Mount Vernon Place NW in the District.
The people involved in running the job fair are really trying to offer opportunities for a population that has a much higher unemployment rate than the rest of the country. In December, the unemployment rate among Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans in December was 13.1%.
