VIDEO: Mary Kay Gives Local Domestic Violence Survivors "You Are Beautiful" Holiday Celebration
Today, Thursday, December 15, the Mary Kay Foundation along with the D.C. Coalition Against Domestic Violence, My Sister's Place women's shelter, and Ayuda, a social services agency, threw a "You Are Beautiful" holiday event for local domestic violence survivors.
According to Karma Cottman, Executive Director of the D.C. Coalition, there were over 30,000 calls to MPD regarding domestic violence in 2010.
Survivors received gift packages, a lunch, and even full makeovers from a celebrity makeup artist.
