The recently relaunched sites are for a select group of hotels located in unique urban neighborhoods along the East Coast, all part of The Independent Collection. Julia Walter, showroom manager of Boffi Georgetown along with project manager/architect Robert Matic and senior project designer Alberto De Marco, opened the Boffi showroom on Thursday evening, October 18, to architects, designers, friends and the general public during last week's Days of Design event in Cady's Alley.

National Plug In Day is Sept 23 in Manassas

Northern Virginia’s National Plug In Day event will be Sunday, September 23 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at The Manassas Museum, 9101 Prince William Street, Manassas, Virginia. The event will give you the chance to learn more about electric vehicles (EV) via interaction with private owners and local EV dealers, as well as through vehicle test drives. The event will feature EVs from Sheehy Nissan (Leaf), Malloy Mitsubishi (i-MiEV), and Miller Toyota (Plug In Prius).

Who Should Attend

EV Owners: Come mingle and swap stories with other owners.

Prospective EV Buyers: Learn more about EVs through interaction with owners and dealers and stick around for a test drive.

Curiosity Seekers: See what all the buzz is about and find out why people are switching to electric.

DC Water Addresses Sewer Back-ups in Bloomingdale, Flood-prone Neighborhoods

From D.C. Water: Recent flooding events prompted DC Water officials to quickly convene and investigate both short-term and long-term solutions for residents of Bloomingdale and certain areas of the District prone to sewer back-ups and flooding.

Today, DC Water releases a letter to customers, an action agenda and a webpage describing what DC Water is doing right now for short-term relief, what DC Water is exploring as interim measures and DC Water’s long-term multi-billion dollar engineering solution that will provide relief in the long run.

District’s Urban Tree Canopy Boasts New Growth

From John Lisle: Preliminary data from a study of multispectral imagery shows the District of Columbia is getting greener. According to the assessment DC’s urban tree canopy has grown by 2.1 percent over the past 5 years, and now covers 37.2% of the city.
