The Jazz in the 'Hoods series features 10 days of 80 performances in museums, clubs, restaurants, hotels and galleries throughout the district. Loide will be performing within the Chinatown/Penn quarter section of the city.
Loide's unique sound is a mix of her eclectic background, a marriage between the rhythms and melodies out of Portuguese speaking Africa (Mozambique and Guinea Bissau) and the soul inspired structure and layers of Black America's indigenous music, Jazz. The event will take place at the Smithsonian American Art Museum - Kogod Courtyard at 750 9th Street on Friday, June 8 at 8:00 p.m.. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
