A Church In & For DC
In the Grace DC Network, our purpose is to be a church in and for the city. This purpose is rooted in what the Bible says about the life of Jesus Christ: that he cared about issues that affected all of humanity, but was equally dedicated to showing the grace of God in real ways to specific people in the place that he lived. He fed the poor, healed the sick, forgave the guilty and befriended the outcast. His global concern never compromised his local concern. We believe that a church that follows Christ should do no less. We don’t want to simply take up space in the city or live in a spiritual ghetto. Instead, we want to help our neighbors and communities experience the practical realities of God's unmerited favor. If the grace of God is truly transforming us, the city around us should know and benefit from the fruit of that transformation. Grace Downtown meets on Sunday evenings at the intersection of every Metro line and several bus lines--a block from the Gallery Place-Chinatown station and three blocks from the Metro Center station. Grace Meridian Hill meets in the heart of Columbia Heights, Adams Morgan and Mount Pleasant. And starting in 2013, our third congregation will meet in and serve Brentwood, Brookland and Langdon.
